Kak Yah, or Rohayah Saad, runs a tailoring room with two helpers from her terrace house in Alor Setar. She sews uniforms for warung, cafés, catering crews and kenduri helpers: baju kurung and baju Melayu sets in matching colours, plain or contrast-trim aprons, and simple tudung sets.
Small orders are her main business, and many customers order five to twenty pieces. Fabric can be chosen from her stock or brought in. Names or a simple logo are embroidered by a machine shop nearby. Finished orders are posted by courier or collected.
