Kumaran operates a garment factory in Tampoi, Johor Bahru, with about 60 sewing operators. It produces uniforms in volume for restaurant chains, quick-service franchises, hotel groups and central kitchens: polo shirts, mandarin-collar shirts, aprons, caps and trousers, made to the client's specification and colour.
New programmes start with a sample round and size set. After approval, the factory can hold fabric and finished stock for a client and release it outlet by outlet as new staff join, with delivery to each branch. Minimums are higher than retail suppliers, and unit prices are lower to match.
