Small-batch canvas, denim and waxed cotton aprons with leather straps, made in Melaka for specialty cafés and bakeries.
Lily Tan and one seamstress make aprons in a shophouse studio off Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock in Melaka. The focus is barista and baker aprons in heavy canvas, denim and waxed cotton, with cross-back leather or cotton webbing straps, brass rivets and pockets placed for pens, thermometers and phones.
Cafés choose the fabric, strap and pocket layout, and can add a leather patch stamped with their name. Orders of 10 to 50 aprons are usual. Each order starts with a sample apron to try on shift before the batch is cut.
