Giliran is a two-person software company in Kuala Terengganu that makes a queue and reservation system for restaurants with long waits. It started with seafood restaurants along the coast that fill up with tourists during school holidays, and now also serves nasi dagang breakfast shops and hotel buffets.
Customers take a queue number from a tablet at the entrance or join remotely from a link, then get an SMS when their table is nearly ready. Staff see the queue and table status on one screen. Restaurants can take reservations with a deposit for large groups to reduce no-shows.
